Does Usher actually have herpes and did he transmit it to several accusers? The truth is out there somewhere and it’s going to come out eventually. However, if the accusers stories turn out to be true, Usher’s insurance company made certain that they will not be paying for any STD related settlements.
According to TMZ, there is a clause in a policy that belongs to Usher that specifically does not cover sexually transmitted diseases.
New York Marine and General Insurance Company filed docs referencing the $20 mil case filed in Georgia by a Jane Doe … who claims she contracted herpes from Usher after having sex with him at least twice this year. The insurer points out a clause in the singer’s policy that excludes coverage for “bodily injury … arising out of the transmission of any communicable diseases by [Usher].”
In the docs, the company also references the lawsuit filed by celebrity attorney Lisa Bloomon behalf of a John Doe, another Jane Doe and Quantasia Sharpton … saying it also doesn’t want to pay in that case.
New York Marine and General Insurance Company also claims that Usher did not disclose a settlement with a woman who was allegedly infected in 2012, which is another reason they will not cover portions of the policy Usher signed in 2016. However, NYM&G will pay for Usher’s legal defense in the $20 million Georgia trial filed by Jane Doe, but they won’t pay for any settlement.
