LaVar Ball is at it again.
At this point, you know LaVar is just talking because he knows you’re listening…and make no mistake, you ARE listening. The numbers don’t lie.
He’s on record saying he’d beat LeBron James, Michael Jordan, & probably thinks he’d whoop Jesus Christ himself in any sport; so his latest claim should come as no surprise.
Via TMZ:
On Tuesday, Ball told the Really Big Show on ESPN 850 AM Cleveland that he was a better tight end “back in my heyday” than four-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro selection Rob Gronkowski.
Ball—who played tight end for the London Monarchs—claimed he was “too fast, too strong” and simply a better athlete than the New England Patriots superstar.
“Once you get into a real good situation, where somebody really believes in you, that’s what you can take off to a whole other level,” he added.
One of Ball’s ex-teammates; former Monarchs CB Kenny McEntyre seems to have a different recollection of Ball’s days lining up at the TE spot when talking to Bleacher Report’s Natalie Weiner:
“Man, he’s talking all that junk—and he was garbage,” he told Weiner. “Personally, I think the most athletic people in the world are basketball players, and he actually wasn’t a bad athlete, to be honest with you. But he was no comparison to what his kids are—let’s just put it like that.”
That’s quite the disparity in talent.
However, given the fact Ball never made it any further some NFL practice squads; I’d say the pendulum is swinging toward McEntyre’s memory.
Quite a distance between GRONK’s accomplishments and those of LaVar, but when has facts meant anything to him?
