Since LaVar stormed on the scene with his crazy business antics & reckless proclamations, almost every sports fan & analyst has had some opinion on him & his college superstar-turned-lottery pick son Lonzo.
He’s been called a marketing genius, accused of child abuse & everything in-between, and he’s never wavered. Not even when his son left UCLA to join the NBA; in fact he’s popping up even more now.
Well like it or not, the Lakers are benefitting from LaVar’s big mouth as much as they may from his son’s game.
@ZO2_ Effect: Lakers will be on national TV a whopping 35 times this season: 11 games on @NBAonTNT, 12 on @NBATV, 11 on ESPN & 1 on ABC.

That’s a huge jump in exposure for a team that won 26 games last year and finished 14th in the western conference.
It’s also no coincidence that this news comes on the heels of Lonzo having a spectacular summer league (which many people tried to wrongly say didn’t matter).
You might as well get comfortable seeing/hearing all things LaVar next season. The NBA is doing it’s best to ensure he stays in your living room.
