Kobe Bryant has officially made it.
The man who spent his childhood dreaming of being drafted by the L.A. Lakers — will have his numbers lifted to the rafters.
Bryant actually was in China when the Lakers made the announcement that they’ll be retiring both his No. 8 and No. 24 jerseys when the team host the Warriors in Los Angeles on Dec. 18.
“As a kid growing up in Italy, I always dreamed of my jersey hanging in the Lakers rafters, but I certainly never imagined two of them,” said Bryant. “The Lakers have bestowed a huge honor on me and I’m grateful for the fans’ enthusiasm around this game.”
Bryant who was aware of the ceremony celebrated the announcement as only he could — posting an Instagram photo of himself in the gym on the same day the news broke.
