TX Politician Apologizes Not For Calling Black People N*ggers, But For His Foul Language (Video)

A Texas politician is apologizing for using foul language, but not the language itself.

TheRoot.com reports that Brownsville Commissioner Cesar DeLeon publicly apologized after a recorded racist rant, where he referred to two black assistant prosecutors as “fucking niggers,” went public but stopped short of apologizing for saying the words themselves.

“I want to begin by apologizing,” De Leon said Wednesday in his apology. “I want to apologize to the citizens of Brownsville or whoever had to listen to those tapes because there is a lot of profane language and that was a private conversation. It was never meant to be public, but it’s very important that people understand that I’m very apologetic.”

DeLeon blames the city’s former fire chief, Carlos Elizondo, for recording the private conversation.
