Browns’ wide receiver Josh Gordon is once again eligible for reinstatement after facing numerous suspensions for failed drug tests. Gordon attempted a comeback last season but checked himself into rehab.
Adam Shefter of ESPN reported that the meeting between Gordon and NFL officials will take place on Wednesday. Earlier this month, Gordon had not formally applied for reinstatement, sources told ProFootballTalk.com.
Gordon expressed his drug-related past and his solutions to better himself in a video created by him in rehab. He was receiving treatment for two months.
The Browns have not come out saying whether they’re interested in keeping Gordon. The trade deadline was 4 P.M. today so the possibility of receiving any type of compensation for him is over. Gordon has not played a game for the Browns since 2014 where he compiled just 303 yards on 24 receptions. Gordon was regarded as one of the best receivers in football after his 2013 campaign in which he gathered 87 receptions for 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns.
