The Miami Dolphins were humiliated last night in a 40-0 loss against the Baltimore Ravens. Dolphins’ head coach Adam Gase addressed the media on Friday afternoon regarding the loss via SI.com.
“I don’t think it’s a retaining information thing. It’s we’re not putting the work in. That’s what it comes down to. If you can’t remember it you shouldn’t be in the NFL.”
Gase went on to say that players aren’t learning assignments on their own and are only absorbing what they hear in team meetings. He also ripped his running backs for not executing the right blocks and only wanted to make big plays on their own.
“How about take the four or five yards you’re going to get? It comes down to everybody doing their job. If we start doing that, it might help. That’s on the running back. Do your job. It’s not hard.”
Gase praised defense and special teams for their efforts but cited the offense for their lack of effort to win games.
“It’s not on defense. Defense is fine. Special teams we seem to be alright. Offensively, it’s a joke. You’ve got too many guys that don’t want to take it home with them. Until our best players actually put forth some effort, it’ll be s—.”
The Dolphins currently stand at 4-3 and third in the AFC East. The team is also dealing with a rib injury to QB Jay Cutler. He is expected to return for next week’s game against the Oakland Raiders despite Miami fans’ cry for the team to start QB Matt Moore.
