Racism in China has never been a secret, and here is another egregious example of how black people are dehumanized in that country. The exhibit debuted at Hubei Provincial Museum in Wuhan, China, which featured Africans photographed alongside of animals.
The name of the exhibit is called “This is Africa” which was captured by photographer Yu Huiping. According to Huiping, he aimed to capture “primitive life” in Africa through the combination of nature, humans, and animals.
The exhibit is getting rave reviews in China with little thought as to how offensive this exhibit comes across to black people. No matter the intent, there is nothing artistic about this level of exploitation and stereotypical racism. Flip the page for the video.
