I vividly remember the wardrobe malfunction from Super Bowl 38, and how outraged everyone claimed to be fter seeing a nipple for a spit second on national television. Unsurprisingly, most of the blame was directed towards Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake came out of the controversy relatively unscathed.
Fast forward to 2017, and Timberlake has been invited back to perform at Super Bowl 52. After Jay-Z bowed out because of solidarity with Kaepernick, there is speculation that Justin and Janet could reunite again.
According to ET Online, she is ready to perform with Justin again, if Justin’s camp reaches out.
A source close to Jackson tells ET that the singer has not been approached by Timberlake or anyone from his team to join him onstage.
“The door is wide open,” the source says. “If Justin or his team did reach out, Janet would perform with him again in a minute.”
Janet Jackson has also refuted claims that she was banned by the NFL because of the wardrobe malfunction in 2004.
“There’s no ban,” a league spokesperson told ET on Monday. “We are not going to comment on any speculation regarding potential guests. There may be no guests. Along with Pepsi, we’re excited to have Justin Timberlake.”
It looks like Janet is ready to return to the Super Bowl as soon as she gets a call from Justin. Stay tuned.
