They blew it. USA men’s soccer just needed a draw versus lowly Trinidad and they would qualify for the 2018 World Cup, but they lost in shocking fashion. Things have been bad for USA Soccer lately with Jurgen Klinsman getting fired after two qualifying losses, and Bruce Arena not quite righting the ship. But it seemed that with the emergence of Christian Pulisic, they would scrape by and make the World Cup like always. However, US Soccer flew too close to the sun this time and got burned. They lost, they are out, and Twitter melted down with them.
If the #USMNT miss the #WorldCup they should have to go visit the White House as a punishment.

Goodbye Bruce and Sunil—you are both gone. @cpulisic_10 deserves better. #USMNT fans deserve better. Utterly, utterly shameful

Worst day ever. #USMNT

What a PATHETIC performance from #USMNT.
Totally pathetic attitude from the onset.
NO World Cup for the U.S. in 2018. They deserve it.

Losing to Trinidad and Tobago with a World Cup berth on the line, has to be the worst loss in the history of USA Soccer. The worst. It’s going to be nightmares for this group of players and coaches for a long time. Flip the pages for more Twitter reactions.
