Bill Belichick Throws Support Behind Tennessee Reject Greg Schiano

Bill Belichick is no stranger to controversy and the Patriots head coach is sure to get more than a few confused glances after he threw his support behind Greg Schiano.

The University of Tennessee backed out of a memorandum of understanding with Schiano to become the head coach of the Volunteers after 100 people gathered on campus to protest the hiring. The public outcry stems from Schiano’s affiliation with the Jerry Sandusky scandal at Penn State. It was alleged in a 2015 deposition by ex-Penn State assistant Mike McQueary that Schiano had known about Sandusky’s child molestation since the 1990’s.

Per Kevin Duffy on Twitter, Belichick stated that he would vouch for Schiano’s character “100 percent” and that he has “utmost respect and zero reservations”.

Are we all that surprised? Belichick also vouched for Donald Trump.
