A Florida woman was placed under arrest after store employees discovered she rang up $1,800 with of electronic goods for $3.70 in the self-check out line
USA Today affiliate TC Palm reports that Cheyenne West switched the tags on a computer, video game controllers and other assorted merchandise before heading to the checkout line.
According to the affidavit, West told deputies that she wanted to get her family some nice gifts.
“I am just trying to get gifts for my son that I cannot afford. The computer is for my husband. Since he just got me a Coach purse, I figured he deserved something nice, as well,” West told a deputy, according to the affidavit.
West was charged with felony grand theft and felony shoplifting. Bail was set at $3,000.
