A Florida man was arrested after he destroyed an ATM machine he says gave him too much money.
According to Florida Today police are charging Michael Joseph Oleksik with criminal mischief a month after being caught on camera destroying the screen on a Wells Fargo Bank ATM. Surveillance footages shows Oleksik destroying the touch screen.
He later called the bank to apologize for the incident but that didn’t stop Wells from notifying authorities.
A short time later, an apologetic Oleksik called the bank and told a manager that he punched the ATM because he was ‘angry the ATM was giving him too much money and he did not know what to do,’ records show. Oleksik also said that he was in a hurry for work and apologized for the damage to the bank’s ATM.
Wells Fargo contacted the Cocoa Police Department and asked to press charges.
Oleksik was arrested and booked on Friday. No word on the exact amount that was dispensed and set him off.
