After Mondays’ Christmas victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers reports surfaced that the defending champions were considering trading away one of their big men if not two. According to the Athletic, the Milwaukee Bucks have checked in with the Warriors about Center JaVale McGee and Zaza Pachulia although the deal is not considered to be imminent per the report.
This would make sense for the Warriors to trade away a big man for some backcourt depth or a potential 2nd round pick in the draft just because rookie Jordan Bell has stepped his game up as of late and has impressed the coaching staff enough to earn him a role as a starter.
Jordan Bell has surpassed McGee on the roster and has earned two starts with Pachulia battling injuries. Bell is a young energetic rebounder which the Warriors need. In the victory over the Cavaliers Head Coach Steve Kerr said Bell’s key rebound changed the whole game.
As for the Bucks, they are lacking depth at the center position after trading Greg Monroe to the Suns for Eric Bledsoe and acquiring McGee or Pachulia can help solidify that role and take some of the pressure of Giannis as the team’s rim protector.
