Things just went down south this week for Alabamans. On Monday, the state rejoiced as Alabama defeated Georgia in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game with it being the team’s fifth championship in nine seasons.
Daniel Bennett of Irvington, Alabama, 18, is being charged with molestation of a horse. The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said that Bennett was caught in the horse’s stable last week.
The owner of the horse wasn’t surprised by this news as she saw that the horse’s stall has been broken into several times in December. The warrant for Bennett’s arrest detailed his crime as a misdemeanor. It stated that Bennett “engaged in or submitted to any sexual contact with an animal, to-wit: a horse.”
Bennett made an appearance in court on Tuesday. He is scheduled to head to trial on January 18.
