Georgia State University women’s soccer player Natalia Martinez has officially withdrawn from the school after being reported on Friday for using the n-word on the popular app Finsta. Associate athletic director Mike Holmes told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he was made aware of the racist post on Friday also. Finsta is known for being a “secret Instagram” page so racists such as Martinez can have an undercover platform to spew their bigotry.

Many students at GSU asked the school to expel her immediately and a petition to do so also surfaced. 500 signatures were rounded up and the university said that on Monday, she was no longer a student. GSU student India Bridgeforth created the petition and told the AJC that as a progressive and diverse university, GSU should not tolerate this behavior.
GSU released a statement regarding the incident and said that they don’t tolerate the language that Martinez used in her post.
