Bears WR and pending free agent Kendall Wright is being sued by a Human stock exchange company.
According to TMZ Kendall Wright owes the company north of $300K. Wright owes exactly $312,715.25 including interest.
How does Wright owe this company so much money? Glad you asked. Fantex, Inc. – is a company in which sell “shares” to fans who think a player is in for a big contract. Here is an example, Fantex would pay athletes a signing bonus ( cash up front) and in exchange, Fantex could get a piece of the athlete’s future contract’s both on and off the field. The stockholders would participate in the profits as well.
According to TMZ, Fantex reportedly signed a deal with Wright back in 2015 in which they offered Wright $3.125 million for 10% of his future earnings. After signing that contract with Fantex, Wright has reportedly made $7.3 million with the Tennessee Titans in 2016 and $4 million with the Chicago Bears in 2017.
Fantex told TMZ they have tried to contact Wright for the money, but he’s basically blown them off.
“Fantex told TMZ, “We made multiple attempts to contact Wright for comment — but were unable to get in touch with a rep”.
