Isaiah Thomas made his debut for the Cavaliers tonight in Cleveland. This is a big moment for IT and the Cavs as they incorporate all the new faces and determine proper rotations. They don’t want to give IT too much too soon, so they have him on a minutes restriction and he will not play back to backs. That means he will not play Wednesday night against his former team, the Celtics. As you may remember IT’s trade to Cleveland from Boston was not a smooth, well-handled process. Since he won’t be playing, IT asked the Celtics to skip any video tribute they may have been planning. Apparently, someone on Twitter didn’t appreciate that and decided to go at IT. In classic fashion, IT clapped back and clearly explained why he didn’t want a tribute, and called the troll a “dumbass.”
Get over myself huh? Because I would like to actually PLAY & have my family in the arena to appreciate the LOVE the city/organization will show US? It ain’t about me it’s about my family… Ha you get over yourself you dumbass https://t.co/LiqeXUVTwD

This sounds perfectly reasonable. Boston meant a lot to him and he had an incredible season with them last year. He came into his own and played the best ball of his career and was embraced by the community. He also went through a terrible tragedy, losing his sister.
The return will be emotional and it makes sense that he would want everything to happen on a night he is playing and when he can have his family in the building. Remember, while they put on a show for our entertainment and enjoyment, these are human beings.
