Former NFL QB and Florida Gators star Tim Tebow has been invited to his second spring training by the New York Mets today. In the fall of 2016, Mets Manager Terry Collins invited Tebow to spring training of 2017 but did not make the cut.
We’ve invited nine players to major league #SpringTraining including: Peter Alonso, P.J. Conlon, Kevin Kaczmarski, Patrick Mazeika, Drew Smith, Corey Taylor, Tim Tebow, David Thompson and Adonis Uceta. #Mets

According to the Mets’ Twitter feed, Tebow was one of nine players invited to their spring training. In his minor league stint with the Mets in 2017, Tebow totaled eight home runs and 52 RBIs. Improving his hitting is the biggest factor in securing a roster spot. In 2017, he was solid in his performances in the outfield. Spring training would give Tebow the opportunity to be on the Mets’ 25-man Opening Day roster. Tebow would be scheduled to report on February 17.
Tebow was not successful in the NFL due to many teams not approving of his throwing ability so it is good to see that he has the opportunity to follow his true passion with baseball. It will be interesting to see the outcome of Tebow’s work in spring training in 2018.
