New NBA All-Star format, the draft, while it was a great idea, everyone wanted to see the draft live but we didn’t get that luxury.
Instead, we put ourselves in Steph Curry and LeBron’s shoes and drafted out of the pool of All-Stars, clearly, Kevin Durant went first, right? The breaking news is that Steph was the main reason the draft wasn’t televised and NBA commissioner Adam Silver leaks that information, or in other words, throws Steph under the bus according to UPROXX.
During a sit down with Rachel Nichols on The Jump, Silver explained that Steph wanted to test the waters first and then we can televise the draft later.
“Give us a break. We changed the format for the first time. Let’s see how it goes, and we can talk about televising it.”
It seems that Steph would make a comment like that and then be on tv after the draft stating next year hopefully the draft would be televised. We’ll see next season if the All-Star draft will be televised as this new format was a success for the most part.
