The temperature has been turned up on the NCAA as this non-profit organization rakes in cash because of its athletes and more former athletes drop their opinion on the on-going issue.
TMZ caught up with Charles Barkley who thinks college basketball is great and sees the bigger picture.
Barkley said,
“The NCAA has some issues, but what about all those kids who got to go to college for free?!
There’s a few guys who are corrupt, I understand that. But, I always look at the big picture.
I want all them young black kids getting their free education!”
That’s what it’s about at the end of the day, getting that education so that one can place themselves in the best position to be successful after school.
Barkley has openly spoken about getting $1000s of dollars at Auburn because he needed pizza, so take his thoughts with a grain of salt.
Barkley also hinted at college athletes getting paid, which is something he’s been saying for a while now.
“Pay the athletes. I don’t know how to pay ’em. Who do you pay? Do you pay the basketball team? Do you pay the football, team? Do you pay the girls teams? It’s not that simple.”
Barkley understands that yes it will be a challenge, the Chuckster also talks about LeBron James, where he may play next season and talks about Shareef O’Neal and him signing to UCLA.
