Steve Nash etched out a Hall of Fame career on the hardwood as a 2-time MVP as well as an 8-time All-Star.
Nash, who self admittedly enjoys soccer more than basketball, will not be joining Chuck, Kenny or Shaq on Inside The NBA. Instead, he will be opting for soccer coverage on the Turner Sports team. Nash has long been linked to the beautiful game as an ardent Tottenham Hotspur fan. The former all-world point guard has also hosted charity soccer games in New York. Here are the details on his role with Turner courtesy of the New York Post.
Sources told The Post that Nash would be a studio analyst, among other potential roles, on coverage of the UEFA Champions League coverage, which switches from Fox Sports to Turner’s TNT, TBS, TruTV and a yet-to-be-named streaming service next year. The Champions League is the top club tournament in the world, featuring teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City.
Nash has the humor and personality to thrive in the broadcasting field. Granted while he did not play the sport professionally, a younger, more vibrant perspective could bring a breath of fresh air to the game similar to what we’ve seen from Tony Romo.
