Rob Gronkowski has been one of the best tight ends in the NFL for the better part of the last decade, but injuries & an increasing desire to spread his wings off the field could put his future as a professional player in jeopardy.
The Patriots seem to be in a state of internal chaos. Tom Brady is another year older & owner Bob Kraft forced Bill Belichick to trade away the only established backup plan, Jimmy Garoppolo, hanging the entire franchise on Brady’s now 41-year old arm.
Add to all of this that Gronkowski is spending his offseason exploring new options & still has yet to commit to playing going forward, reportedly receiving high encouragement from the likes of Sylvester Stallone & The Rock to pursue acting full time.
In fact, Hollywood insider website The Tracking Board is reporting Gronkowski is set to play alongside superstar actor Mel Gibson in a new action flick titled: ‘Boss Level’:
It appears the tight end has listened, as sources tell the Tracking Board that Gronkowski will join Frank Grillo and Mel Gibson in Joe Carnahan’s action movie BOSS LEVEL.
Carnahan is directing from a script written by the Borey Brothers, and the film co-stars Naomi Watts, Annabelle Wallis and Will Sasso.
Grillo will play a retired special forces veteran who becomes trapped in a never-ending loop that results in his death every day.
Gronkowski’s role is being kept under wraps, but you can safely expect him throw a punch or two. Let’s just hope he takes off his Super Bowl rings first.
Gronkowski has been flirting with the party & Hollywood lifestyle for a while now. We all know about ‘The Patriot’ way and how it doesn’t apply to him (as long as he’s producing), but with the Patriots looking to reload again & Belichick’s new headaches, it remains to be seen if he thinks the future Hall of Fame tight end is worth bringing back, as well as if Gronkowski even wants to continue getting hit & hurt when he could dive into WWE or acting and likely make more money.
