Craig Mack’s funeral was held a few days ago and EPMD DJ, DJ Scratch, revealed that he was the only celebrity in attendance. That came as a surprise due to the overwhelming amount of support after his passing a few weeks ago from many notably names in the industry such as fellow Bad Boy label mates Diddy and Lil Kim.
Scratch came to the defense of Diddy on Instagram and others for not coming to Mack’s funeral. He said that members of Mack’s religious community didn’t want friends or family there, along with close associates.
Prior to this, Diddy said that he wanted to pay for the funeral. Due to this new information about many people not being allowed to attend the funeral, Diddy said he didn’t even know that the funeral happened.
“When I left Craig’s memorial service I called Diddy to thank him for giving Craig the platform for the world to know Craig Mack’s music,” said Scratch in his deleted IG post. “I told him I just left the service, he said “They buried Craig already, what service are you talking about?!?”. He didn’t know about the memorial service. Diddy offered to pay for Craig Mack’s funeral, but the religious community Craig was in declined. None of his Friends or colleagues were allowed to attend his funeral. Diddy respected their wishes.”
The fact that family and close friends were not allowed to be at Mack’s funeral is definitely odd.
Mack broke through in hip-hop in the early 90s with his hit single ‘Flava In Ya Ear’ after being signed to Diddy’s Bad Boy label which also started the careers of artists such as Lil Kim and The Notorious B.I.G.
