GGG Calls Canelo & Oscar De La Hoya Cheaters; How He Knows Canelo Was on PEDS for First Fight & Dares Him to Take Lie Detector Test (Video)

Here is the Catch-22 issues with Canelo’s contaminated meat excuse for testing positive PEDS.  The fact that makes it a known issue makes it an easy excuse, but because it is such an easy excuse it makes you wonder if that is why they are using it.

The other issue for Canelo is if everyone knows there is an issue why would he and his team even take that risks of eating meat in Mexico?

I can understand why GGG is upset, because the more you think about the more you have to wonder how an experienced team like Canelo could even let this happened.

GGG had strong words for Canelo while talking to reporters at his Big Bear training camp.

“Again with Mexican meat? Come on,” Golovkin said. “I told you, it’s not Mexican meat. This is Canelo. This is his team. This is his promotion. Canelo is cheating. They’re using these drugs, and everybody is just trying to pretend it’s not happening.

“This guy, he knows. This is not his first day in boxing. He proves he gets benefits from everyone and he can get away with it. Check him on a lie detector and then we can find out everything.”

Speaking by phone to ESPN later Tuesday, Golovkin added: “I think it is silly to blame the meat because an athlete at this level should not be caught on the meat. I eat Mexican food all the time and I’ve never had that problem.”

“It was pretty obvious when [Alvarez’s] muscles were all [enlarged] … and with the traces of injections, which were visible,” Golovkin said. “Before the first fight, I knew he was not clean. I can talk about Oscar De La Hoya too. He is also not clean. He’s dirty.”

GGG isn’t just talking out the side of his mouth, he claims to have actual evidence that Canelo was using PEDs in first fight.

Is this paranoia or is this a legit accusation? You be the judge.

Golovkin’s comments about injection marks stem from the fact that he and his promoter, Tom Loeffler, said they have been sent videos and photos of Alvarez apparently taking some kind of pill following the weigh-in for the fight in September, in addition to photos that show him having apparent injection marks on his abdomen.

“People were sending him videos and photos, and they said he should ask the commission what these photos and videos are,” Loeffler told ESPN. “People were telling him to get the commission to clarify what it was. But he doesn’t think Canelo was smart.”

Golden Boy Promotions president Eric Gomez says that GGG doesn’t sound like a confident fighter and noted that Canelo has tested clean in subsequent tests after the dirty one.

The problem is if it wasn’t the meat, that would mean Canelo was coming off a cycle of PEDS and therefore would obviously test clean going forward.

Only Canelo and his team know what really happened. It will impossible without a smoking gun to make any definitive conclusion.  With that being said, while lie detector tests aren’t 100% accurate, I am curious if Canelo would be up for it.

The fight will happen because way too much on the line, but if Canelo does go on to win there will be this cloud hanging over his head.
