How a Man Robbed a Bank and Used the Stolen Money for a Taxi to Get Away

An Indiana man was arrested after he used the money he recently stole to pay the cab carrying him to the scene of the crime.

Courier Press reports that Derrick Faria was arrested less than an hour after he allegedly robbed Fifth Third Bank on Diamond Avenue on Thursday.

According to police records, Faria requested a uCabbi pick him up at his home and take him to the bank shortly before 2 pm. He then entered the bank, handed a teller a note that read, “this is a robbery give me all your money,” without brandishing a weapon, then got back into the same uCabbi that brought him to the bank, paying him with the stolen cash.

Police located Faria after witnesses provided his description and authorities reviewed surveillance video. He has yet to be formally charged.
