This is probably not the year that Kawhi Leonard imagined to have. Leonard has played in a few games this season and it’s enough to have people question if he desires to stay with San Antonio. Leonard spoke about his future as he made it pretty clear he wants to stay.
If you look back and see how many games Leonard has played, it’s a total of 9 games. Granted the Spurs aren’t falling off but holding down the fifth spot in the West, in March, is something they’re not use to.
Leonard’s name has been tossed into trade rumors and then fan-made jerseys have surfaced. While at team practice today, he spoke to reporters about his future and return.
Asked if he would like to finish his career as a Spur, Leonard said, "Yeah, for sure." #Spurs

Asked when he hopes to return, Leonard said, "Soon. I don't have a set date right now. I just have to keep doing what I'm doing. The progression that I am making has been great. I just have to keep doing what I'm doing." #Spurs

He even touched based on the rumors that suggest that he’s not happy in San Antonio.
Asked if his course of treatment has created friction between him and the #Spurs, Kawhi said, "Everything was done as a group. I don't feel like nothing was friction. I talk to Pop everyday. He knows what the progressions were, he knew what I am doing the whole entire time."
