Buffalo dominated Arizona from tip-off until the very last second ticked off the clock, beating the Wildcats 89-68.
The Wildcats never really had a chance in this game either. Buffalo shot 15-30 from three, while Arizona only shot 2-18 from three.
Tonight, the Wildcats were giving the Buffalo Bulls +9 points and were -570 to win straight-up. In other words, Vegas did not think Buffalo had a chance either.
Arizona’s head coach Sean Miller is probably questioning reality itself right now. This is the second time in 3 years that one of his teams has exited the NCAA tournament in the First Round, as a higher seed, and a significant favorite.
Miller was still a little shook in the post-game interviews:
They overwhelmed us in the second half, on offense and defense.
Sean Miller is also probably questioning the value of a dollar.
We are only a few weeks removed from ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reporting that FBI wiretaps intercepted a telephone conversation where Sean Miller discussed a $100,000 payment to ensure that freshman, and likely #1 overall pick in the NBA 2018 Draft, Deandre Ayton, would commit to Arizona.
The 7’1”, 250 pound, Ayton averaged 20 and 11 this season, and following the loss to Buffalo, Ayton promptly declared for the NBA.
So with basketball over, and Ayton gone, it’s about time for Sean Miller to start getting his story straight for the media…or a judge…which ever comes first. So speak up coach.
We. Need. Answers.
Now, a lot of people are going to have their opinions about the Wildcats after this loss, but plain and simple, Arizona got out paid.
**Out played**
