This year’s WNBA Draft was terrific and did not disappoint. The top 10 draft picks showed out as they showed us that they can slay as well as ball. But one thing that we will be seeing is how the daughters of former NBA players will be in the WNBA soon.
There’s so much to discuss but one thing that we cannot go without mentioning are the Las Vegas Aces. Not only is their logo super dope but they drafted A’ja Wilson as the first overall pick. This is exactly what the WNBA needed- a team in Sin City to further expand the brand.
In addition, the night was full of glam as Nike HQ in New York City hosted the prestigious WNBA Draft. It’s also a family affair as players come with their families to see their dreams come true, to play in the WNBA. At times, family is everything.
One thing we do have to mention is that we will be seeing more daughters of former NBA players make their way to the WNBA. Lexie Brown was drafted by the Connecticut Sun and by her side was her dad Dee Brown, former NBA player. What’s even cooler is that her dad also coached a WNBA team; talk about setting more records and making history.

Lexie Brown joins a prestigious group of ladies whose fathers were former players: Tamika Catchings, Cheryl Ford, and Natalie Williams.
The 22nd season of the WNBA is set to start on May 18 with preseason kicking off on May 6.
Just imagine the day that Kobe’s daughters get into the league. That’ll be something grand to see.
