At Wednesday’s BIG 3 combine in Santa Monica, the 60-plus league hopefuls showed up and put their moves on display ahead of Thursday night’s draft. Competing for 19 open slots, the ex-NBA players put their best performances forward in the hopes of impressing coaches and league staff on hand.
Despite a wide pool of talent on the court, there were a few that stood out from the pack and looked poised and ready to step into a new role immediately.
Based on their performance in Wednesday’s combine, here’s a short list of the combine standouts, and most likely to head to the league, in no particular order.
Josh Powell (PF/Center)
Powell won two NBA championships with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009 and 2010 and has also spent time with the Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers, Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Clippers, Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets.
Mario West (SG)
Previously a member of the Atlanta Hawks and New Jersey Nets.
Mo Evans (SG/SF)
Previously played for the Washington Wizards.
David Hawkins (SG/SF)
Previously played for the Houston Rockets.
Antoine Wright (SG/SF)
Previously played for the New Jersey Nets, Dallas Mavericks, Toronto Raptors.
Brian Cook (PF/C)
Previously played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Orlando Magic, Houston Rockets.

The draft will take place on Thursday night in Los Angeles and broadcast live on Fox at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT.
