Tom Brady’s successor is out there. We thought it could of been Ryan Mallett but he was traded to the Texans. Jimmy Garoppolo was almost there but we see how that’s turning out in San Francisco. Then, Brady calls Lamar Jackson “a beast” a few weeks ago on social media and the Patriots took action.
The NFL and CBS Sports reports that the Patriots met with Louisville Cardinal’s quarterback Lamar Jackson two weeks ago and were “intrigued and impressed”. The rumors of the Patriots drafting a quarterback early this draft started when they traded Brandin Cooks to the Rams getting them two first round picks, 23 and 31. With the news that the relationship between Bill Belichick and Tom Brady is falling off, Rob Gronkowski still debating if he wants to play or start an acting career and Brady’s age climbing, it would be time to start looking.
Even with Jackson’s 7203 passing yards, 3172 rushing yards, 57 passing touchdowns and 39 rushing touchdowns in the last 2 seasons, some consider him to be a bottom pick. Some analyst even think he’ll drop into the second round.
Patriots think otherwise.
