Saints QB Drew Brees bought a ring from Vahid Moradi of CJ Charles Jewelers in San Diego in 2015. He bought a 4.09 carot blue diamond ring for $8.1 million, which was 6 million more than the original price, according to TMZ Sports.
Brees is suing Moradi for lying on his investment in the jewelry he purchased for saying that its value will go up. For the diamond ring, an independent specialist said the original price was $2 million but has only increased to $3.75 million.
In a previous reportby TMZ Sports, Moradi’s lawyer Eric M. George said that Brees is at fault on his own.
“Drew Brees aggressively purchased multi-million dollar pieces of jewelry. Years later, claiming to suffer ‘cash flow problems,’ he tried to bully my client into undoing the transactions,” said George.
Brees is also making the claims towards Moradi that for a pair of $975k pink earrings he bought in 2015, the actual price turned out to be $176k and that Moradi painted the diamonds pinker.
