The saga of who will purchase the Carolina Panthers has come to an end. Along with Diddy and Steph Curry in the mix of things, the Carolina faithful has heard of a multitude of potential buyers over the last 5 months.
Last December, Jerry Richardson announced plans to sell the team amid his workplace misconduct scandal. We now learn, via QOTB that hedge fund manager and Pittsburgh Steelers minority owner David Tepper has finalized a deal to purchase the franchise for $2.2 billion.
He will sign the deal on Tuesday and will keep the team in Charlotte. All that remains is an approval vote and the sale of his Steelers shares.
The deal will be voted on at next week’s Annual Spring Meeting in Atlanta, GA.
