Last week it was reported that Carolina Panthers defensive backs coach Curtis Fuller had resigned from the team following an internal investigation into allegations of workplace misconduct.
More details have come forward in the days since that resignation. Allegedly, Fuller had been sending inappropriate emails and texts to female staff members according to an anonymous source. The communications were sent to a volume of female employees and the amount of communication, rather than the content, is what prompted the investigation.
There was at least one incident last year in which one of the recipients reported the issue to superiors but it is unknown what action, if any, was taken.
Fuller had been a part of Rivera’s staff since 2013 working his way up to defensive backs coach in 2017 when Steve Wilks was promoted to Defensive Coordinator.
The Fuller situation is just the latest in a lot of shape shifting over the past few months within the Panthers organization. The investigation into soon-to-be former owner Jerry Richardson is entering its fourth month.
