R&B singer R.Kelly seems to be totally unconcerned and maybe even offended by the latest #TimesUp sub-movement #MuteRKelly and Spotify’s new Hateful Conduct policy that subsequently ended their promotion and support of R. Kelly. In a Facebook Live session hosted by his friend, Remus Jackson IV, R. Kelly is seen making a boastful toast to a room full of friends:
I got a million motherf*ckers hatin’ me, or 40 billion motherf*ckers lovin’ me, you know what I’m sayin’?… I’mma take this musical sh*t, and I’mma inject these motherf*ckers with this musical, beautiful sh*t.
Interestingly enough everyone in the room is in support of Kelly as he tries to cover the jabs at his reputation with new music. Someone in the crowd jokes at his use of the word “inject” saying “I can’t afford [any] more kids.”
Amid allegations of sex trafficking, kidnapping, sexual assault, sexual misconduct, verbal abuse, and many other things, the Pied Piper is certain that his music and his legacy will forever be a part of the world and nothing anyone can say will change that. He finds support in his “40 billion fans” who are indeed still listening to his music according to Nielsen Music. He says:
I am handcuffed… by my destiny. It’s too late, they shoulda did this sh*t thirty years ago. It’s too late. The music has been injected into the world. Ok? I hired my motherf*ckin’ self.
Former NBA player Antoine Walker then makes his own toast showing his support for his friend:
People laugh at me when I… play music. They know when I play music… I’m all Kellz. I’m a fan. And he’s a friend of mine… It’s about having access to other great people… This motherf*ucker is #1.
The timing of this May 18 video lines up with a new lawsuit that is currently pending for a young woman who claims that R. Kelly sexually abused her and infected her with herpes. With all of this happening, what seems to be, weekly, one would think Robert Kelly would want to stay out of the spotlight and keep from commenting on things like this, but it is R. Kelly.
