The US Open has announced when the official tryouts for ballpersons are going to be. We’re so use to saying ballboys but this is open to both genders and you must be at least 14 years old.
We’re just about 2 months away from this year’s 2018 US Open and the tryouts for ballpersons is just around the corner. You too can be like Kramer on that episode of Seinfeld as he was a ballboy. There’s over 100 opportunities and here’s how you can land one on June 26, 2018.
WHAT:
More than 100 sought-after positions as ballpersons for the 2018 US Open are up for grabs. Prospective ballpersons for both the net and back positions will be evaluated by US Open officials on their overall athletic skills.
WHO:
Anyone age 14 and older trying out for the coolest summer job in sports.
WHERE:
USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, Flushing, New York.
General Public Open Tryouts—3:00 p.m. registration
Participants can register on-site at the National Tennis Center beginning at 3:00 p.m. The evaluation process will begin at approximately 4:00 p.m., after a welcome by US Open Ballperson Director Tina Taps and a veteran ballperson demonstration.

ballperson.
ADDITIONAL INFO:
Beginning this year, ballpersons will roll the ball from point-to-point, rather than throw between positions. Rolling between positions has traditionally been utilized at the other Grand Slam events.
In case you’re wondering how much you’ll be earning, it will be an hourly wage but endless memories that have no price. The dope thing is the age factor- you can be as young as 14 and be a ballperson.
In case you’re looking for some inspiration or looking how to train, refer to Kramer’s ballboy tryout.
