The NBA Draft is set to take off tomorrow in New York as the projected lottery picks are doing thier press run prior to the event. This has been heralded as a class with lots of talent but different evaluation from various basketball experts. Along with the drama of team’s draft selections and what possible trades will occur, the sneaker companies are also angling to sign the next superstar of the league to their company.
PUMA, after a long hiatus from producing a baksteball sneakers has came back in the market like a bull. They have signed Knicks legend Walt “Clyde” Frazier to a lifetime deal. They also added the projected number one overall pick Deandre Ayton, as well as Marvin Bagley, and Zhaire Smith. All three players are slated to be drafted in the top 5 picks during tomorrow’s draft. They’ve also continued their announcemen by signing Jay-Z as the President of basketball operations of the company.
Today, according to Nick Depaula of ESPN , Michael Porter Jr. has signed a deal with PUMA.

Porter is being projected as high as number three to the Atlanta Hawks and possibly could fall as low as number eight to the Cleveland Cavaliers. This brand could potentially have 4 lottery picks in this year’s draft to their basketball roster. Looks like PUMA is committed to making this new endeavor into the basketball world work. We will see if they can carve out a place in the ever growing sneaker market.
Hypebeast has reported the debut of the basketball shoe which will be worn by Deandre Ayton, Marvin Bagley, and Zhaire Smith. The name of the shoe is Puma Court Clyde Disrupt and is set to launch prior to the start of the NBA 2018-19 season.
