Paul George is one of the top free agents available this offseason. Many believed that after the Thunder were knocked out of the 1st round of the playoffs by the Utah Jazz he was a sure bet to leave. There have been plenty of rumors of George taking his talents to the Lakers as he grew up in the Southern California area.
The Lakers have enough cap space to sign him and Lebron James who is also expected to opt out of his deal and become a free agent. Paul George will most certainly keep an eye on what Lebron may do as it very likely they could both take their talents to Los Angeles and form a super team of their own.
As of today according to Larry Brown Sports, NBA reporter Marc Stein reported:
“there is a growing belief around the league that Oklahoma City has a far better chance to retain the free agent-to-be Paul George than many believed when the Thunder crashed out of the first round of the playoffs.”
Now is the time of the year where there are a plethora of rumors about free agency and the draft. We will find out in a couple of weeks what was actually true or not. Paul George will be a tremendous addition for any team looking to improve their roster. Soon enough we’ll see if OKC will be able to retain his services.
