Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans is putting his money where his mouth is. After signing a 5 year extension that could net him almost close to $100 million if he were to meet the incentives in the deal and not be released by the team, he has donated money to a family in need.
Evans has been one of the more vocal NFL players who has participated in the national anthem protests against police brutality and racism. According to ESPN, Evans has donated $11,000 to the family of Gregory Hill who was shot and killed by a St. Lucie County Sherriff’s Office deputy in 2014. Gregory Hill was 30 when he was shot and killed by an officer responding to a complaint about loud music in 2014. His family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the police department where the jury found Gregory Hill was 99 percent responsible for his death and found the police department 1 percent at fault.
Evans reached out to the family via Twitter when he heard of the news regarding Hill’s death:

He was directed to visit the family’s GoFundMe page and he donated $11,000. Evans donation brought the total donations to about $100,000. Flip the page for picture of Evans donation on the GoFundMe page.
