Josh Hart has picked up right where last year’s Los Angeles Lakers left as the defending champs of the Las Vegas Summer League. The Lakers have gone undefeated winning their past 6 games in this year’s Summer League and are playing the Trailblazers in the final game for 2018’s new champion.
Josh Hart fresh off his 37 points versus the Cleveland Cavaliers in a double overtime win has been named MVP of the Las Vegas Summer League via ESPN. Hart has led the Lakers in scoring during their run and has been congratulated by his new teammate Lebron James. Hart acknowledged Lebron’s shout out via Twitter,

Hart was the last pick of the first round in 2017’s draft, and has impressed during this Summer League run. the lakers currently appear to have a logjam in the backcourt. Lakers brought Kentavious Caldwell-Pope back on a one year deal and also signed Lance Stephenson to a free agent contract and both are projected to be ahead of Hart in the depth chart.
Coach Luke Walton will have to decide how he wants to run this team and distribute minutes to his players. One can’t ignore the impact Hart has said and he is a competent shooter who can knock down open shots that Lebron creates with his drives to the basket.
