Joining the Lakers has positioned LeBron to further explore several ventures he’s already involved with off the court. Working in conjunction with Spring Hill Entertainment company, LeBron James will produce an upcoming comedy which has yet to be named.
Details are still emerging on the project, however LeBron is expected to star in the film with the script currently several months into production. The film has also been sold to Paramount Players according to Variety.
James isn’t a stranger to the movie industry. The King made his movie screen debut as himself in the 2015 romantic comedy Train Wreck while also being involved with several projects including a remake of the 90’s hit House Party and the Netflix series On Her Own Ground.
Variety has more details on what to expect.
James would produce with his SpringHill partner Maverick Carter. Jamal Henderson and Spencer Beighley will oversee the project for SpringHill. Ali Bell and Gabby Canton are handling the project for Paramount Players.
This would mark James’ second big-screen role; he previously played himself in the Judd Apatow comedy “Trainwreck.”
The sale comes on the heels of James signing a four-year, $154 million contract to join the Los Angeles Lakers — one of the biggest sporting deals in NBA history.
