The Boring Company, the tunnel construction and infrastructure firm of Elon Musk, announced on Wednesday that they are going to build a privately funded tunnel to help alleviate Dodger Stadium traffic.
The tunnel, from a subway station in East Hollywood to Dodger Stadium, would reduce travel time all the way down to less than four minutes by electric vehicle. The 3.6 mile tunnel will take an estimated 14 months to complete and will transport 1,500 fans per game.
Eventually, the “Dugout Loop” will provide traffic respite for 2,800 fans.
LA Dodgers CFO Tucker Cain tells ESPN:
“The Dugout Loop will be good for fans and neighbors, providing another fast and affordable way for people to get to home games, while helping to reduce traffic in the neighborhoods surrounding Dodger stadium.”
The Boring Company is the only investor in the profit and plans to remain operationally profitable by charging $1 per person, per trip.
