According to TMZ Sports, Brooklyn Nets newly acquired PF Kenneth Faried was arrested for possessing over 2 ounces of marijuana.
The Manimal got pulled over in the Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton, New York at 1:30 am at a sobriety check-point.
Police say that they smelled a strong odor of weed from his vehicle.
I mean, the man had 2 ounces on him in a car, so “smelling like he had weed on him” probably goes without saying here…
Faried was taken into jail for a 4th degree misdemeanor for unlawful possession of marijuana.
His 2 friends that were riding with him just got tickets and were released at the scene; however, Faried is in more trouble because he was driving and the weed was his.
If convicted, Faried is actually looking at some serious time though—like up to 1 whole year in prison.
In a statement to TMZ, the Nets provided:
We are aware of the situation involving Kenneth Faried and are in the process of gathering more information at this time.
Apparently, the Nets just were not aware of the situation of trading for a player, who spent 7 years of his career playing for the Denver Nuggets, being a big stoner was. They might want to get into the process of gathering more information about that misstep too…
