A video of a horrifying moment an SUV crashed through the window of a fast-food restaurant in Detroit and sent diners flying over has been posted on social media. It’s scary and in photos captured from the video, you could see horrified diners flying over and finding escape points to save their precious lives.
Surveillance footage posted to social media over the weekend showed the horrifying moment an SUV crashed through a crowded fast food restaurant window in Detroit, sending people scrambling for safety. The crash occurred at Zorba’s Coney Island on Detroit’s east side around 1am on New Year’s Day, according to WXYZ, as several patrons waited in line for food.
The impact of the crash sent customers flying through the restaurant, but miraculously, police said, nobody was injured. Detroit police have now identified the suspects in the terrifying video and are investigating the incident as a hit-and-run with surveillance footage from outside the restaurant showing the driver walk away following the impact.
‘The video is disturbing and troubling to say the least,’ Deputy Chief Rudy Haper told WXYZ in a statement. ‘The suspects clearly have no regard for human life and need to do the right thing and turn themselves into authorities immediately.’
Meanwhile, security footage from outside the restaurant showed the gray SUV quickly turning into the parking lot. It squeezes past two parked car, scraping them up as it passes by, and drives right into the window, leaving rubble behind in its wake.
The driver eventually reverses the SUV as people inside could be heard screaming. Once the front end of the SUV is backed up far enough, a man could be seen getting out of the driver’s seat.
He is soon chased by a woman who got out of the car’s passenger side door, and screams at him ‘I f****** knew it,’ and ‘What the f**** wrong with you?’
As she goes to get something from the driver’s side, the man walks away from the camera with his hands on his head.
The woman in the video quickly found him, Foster told WXYZ, ‘and was screaming “Lorenzo, Lorenzo.”‘
It appears Lorenzo was being accused of cheating and to avoid the questions and/or destroy the evidence he ran into the fast-food joint.
