Before we get to his claims, it is important we go over the factual and circumstantial evidence.

T.O was productive and on his way to one of his better seasons before getting injured last year (72 catches, 983 yards and 9 TDs).  For the last couple of years he hasn’t been an issue in the locker room, even when he has been in some losing situations.

Owens does have a history that he only has himself to blame for.  His dealing with the media, quarterbacks, coaches and teammates, has led to a reputation of being a disruptive force.

At the age of 38, coming of torn ACL, no teams were willing to give him a look.  The question begs what was the real reason why?  I have a theory, but here is what T.O. had to say.

“(The reason) I didn’t get picked up was that a lot of general managers bought into the fact that the media thinks that I’m this bad guy, this rebel guy, this disruptive guy that divides and messes up team’s chemistry. They won’t allow me to turn over a new leaf. They won’t allow me to be a better person,” Owens said.

“Anytime anything is brought up about me, they keep talking about things that happened five, six, seven years ago. Why don’t I get a pass? I’ve kind of fallen into that villain category and I can’t get out of that box.”

Call me crazy, but I think retired Ricky Williams will be more interesting than NFL player Ricky Williams.

Without any filter, he can pretty much say and do what he wants. Then again his wife doesn’t appear to be that cool on him telling all his information.

Ricky is also now promoting his new favorite website, Access Consciousness , and their class on Access Bars.

Ricky’s wife wasn’t pleased (by the Tweet that is) and threatened to make Ricky delete his Twitter account, but cooler heads prevailed and Ricky is still Tweeting away.

The wife of Chargers defensive lineman Tommie Harris has been hospitalized and is on life support.

Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that Harris’s 29-year-old wife, Ashley, suffered a stroke or brain aneurysm. She is in a hospital in Oklahoma.

A friend of the family is quoted as saying, “We are holding on for a miracle.”

The whole Hall of Fame process is flawed.

Some members have way too much power and personal biases have kept people out of the Hall of Fame for a long time (see: Art Monk).

If personal beefs did not exist both Terrell Owens and Randy Moss would be first ballot Hall of Famers when they come up from enshrinement, but I have been told by people much more connected than me, that T.O. may never get in and Moss is iffy for 1st ballot.

Cris Carter has been a lightening rod for a lot of people.  Cris Carter is a hall of famer, I don’t hesitate when I say that,  but he can’t seem to get in, is it because some of the members have a personal bias against him? Philadelphia Radio Host Howard Eskin seems to believe so.

Many a theory has been put forth to explain why Cris Carter was once again snubbed for the Hall of Fame. One possibility: that Carter is being kept out of the Hall for some personal reason. Many have theorized that Carter’s prickly relationship with the press over the years might be playing a role.

That notion gained more credibility today thanks to a tweet from Philadelphia radio host Howard Eskin. Eskin’s tweet reads, “WR Cris Carter didn’t make the Pro Football HOF I was told b cause female voter has personal problem w CC. Cost 4 votes. Missed by 1.” The female voter with the CC problem isn’t identified but only two women are listed as Hall of Fame voters at the present time: Nancy Gay of FoxSports.com and Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

I think once Kobe Bryant retires people will appreciate how great he was.

People now are realizing they are watching one of the greats wind down his career.  Kobe has been in the league for 16 years and came in the league when he as 17.

Many of us grew up with Kobe and for these younger athletes they know more about Kobe than Jordan.  Brandon Spikes maybe was a bit over excited about meeting Bean, but as he says let him have his moment.  Here are a few quotes from his Twitter account.

Settle down a bit sir.

I am glad Kobe was able to get him out of his Super Bowl loss malaise.   He played the game of his life and should be proud of that.  I give him credit for people his ummmm feelings about Kobe out for the world to see.

Hines Ward has had a very good career.

Couple of Super Bowl rings, nice stats and a rep as one of the toughest wide receivers ever.  He isn’t a Hall of Famer (Hall of the Very Good) in my opinion, but he has been an integral part of the Steelers success.

But just a good sitcom his shelf life with the Steelers seems to be over.

Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reports that the Steelers won’t bring back veteran receiver Hines Ward for a 15th season with the team.

In 2011, Ward slid down the depth chart, which makes him way too expensive for his current contribution level.  Also, even if he cuts his pay down to the veteran minimum, he’s in danger of occupying a position that ordinarily would require the wideout to play special teams.

The Giants fan is an idiot.

Just because you watch HOUSE doesn’t make you a medical expert.

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle this morning, Liz Mullen of SportsBusiness Journal reports. Gronkowski injured his ankle while being tackled by Baltimore Ravens safety Bernard Pollard in the AFC Championship Game. The second-year tight end returned to the game with his left ankle taped heavily and was able to play in Super Bowl XLVI, though surgery after the season has always been the likely scenario. According to Mullen, the recovery time is expected to take 10 weeks, which means Gronkowski will be ready to go well before training camp.

According to John Keim of the Washington Examiner, the Redskins were interested in Orton when he was on waivers, but did not claim him. CSNWashington reported it was because of potential locker-room friction with Grossman. One league source said it was as much salary related (Orton would have been owed $3 million for one month’s work). By signing Orton, clearly a cheaper alternative than Peyton Manning, it would enable the Redskins to focus elsewhere in the draft – and still have a good chunk of change to spend in free agency. They likely would still draft a quarterback, if they view Orton as a one or two year guy, then maybe it could work – especially if they upgraded the receiving corps to pair with a less error-prone QB.

Wes Welker is expected to get the franchise tag from the Patriots before the start of free agency, according to the Boston Globe. The report adds that things could turn ugly between Welker and the team including a holdout potentially going as long as possible. Welker played big in his contract year, catching 122 passes for a career-best 1,569 yards and career-high nine touchdowns in 2011.

Normally, with apologies if I know you don’t mean them, I will call you out on them.

You can easily tell if someone means the apology or not, Brandon Jacobs says a lot of stupid things, so originally I just figured he was forced to apologize, but his reasoning for apologizing is plausible, so he will receive no slander from me.

It was inappropriate, because you never tell another man’s wife to “shut up,” and Jacobs apologized for it later on Wednesday.

“Given the fact that it’s a colleague of mine’s wife, I do apologize for saying that, because I shouldn’t have said that,” Jacobs said Wednesday on The Doug Gottlieb Show. “It’s his wife and I should respect that just as much as anyone else.”

As for the “be cute” part of his statement, well, Jacobs isn’t apologizing for that.

“No question, he should take that as a compliment,” Jacobs said. “If he finds something wrong with that, then that’s his problem.”

He is correct, you should never tell a co-workers’ wife to shut up, so I can see where he was coming from.

If you ever wanted to know why sports entertainment has taken over media, just think of the two main stories that are still ongoing even though Super Bowl has been over for days.

Gisele comments and GRONK’s dancing in the club.

The shelf life for that has been longer than Manningham’s catch or Wes Welker’s drop.

I have heard players describe by ESPN analysts over the years as……

Thugs, criminals, malcontents, divas, hood, ignorant, dumb, stupid, divas , ignorant and one time a b*tch, but none of those analysts were force to apologize on air?

Hmmmmm I wonder why.

Jalen Rose, the former NBA player who is now an ESPN analyst, appeared on Mike and Mike in the Morning to talk basketball but said at the outset of his appearance that he wanted to weigh in on Gronkowski first. In hindsight, he and ESPN probably wish he had stuck to basketball.

“Forgive this term because I didn’t make it up: He was having a good time. He was white boy wasted. He was having a good time,” Rose said.

That was about two and a half hours into the four-hour Mike and Mike show, and at the very end of the program Rose returned to the studio to apologize. It appeared that Rose (and hosts Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic) were being hurried into getting an apology onto the air before the show ended, although Rose and Golic both laughed through the apology.

“You guys got me in trouble,” Rose said. “Earlier in today’s show we were talking about the Patriots’ post-game party and I made some comments that other people — some people — took as insensitive remarks, so for those that took it that way I definitely apologize. Pretty sure I always say things that upset people, get under people’s skin. I guess today was no different. So I’m sorry for the pushback.”

Basically what Rose is saying is whoever was offended hasn’t had sex this decade.

Stop being so sensitive to to everything.

Here is the truth.

GRONK is white and he was wasted at the party, that makes him white boy wasted. If he was black, he would have been black boy wasted, what is the big deal?

Rose was making a joke, get over it. No wonder everyone prefers Dan Patrick over Mike and Mike, it is because you guys are lame and is a show that men only over the age 40 who have way too much porn on their laptop watch.

Get over yourself.

Dream Team?

I would hope that the Eagles have learned their lesson.  They have enough receivers and don’t need to bring another strong personality into the mix.

Get better on defense and the offensive line with worker bees, not high profile guys.

Howard Eskin has reported that during a conversation with New York Jets wide receiver Plaxico Burress during Super Bowl week, the oft-troubled received indicated he has a strong desire to play for the Philadelphia Eagles.  Eskin tweeted earlier today on his personal twitter feed (@howardeskin) that “Saw and talked to Plaxico Burress at Super Bowl and told me he wants to play for Eagles.  Badly”.  Several other media outlets have taken this story and run with it, saying that the Eagles are likely to pursue Burress.

When I saw Plaxico in Indy…………never mind it isn’t relevant.

There are reports the Eagles maybe interested, but it wouldn’t be wise.

Just raises expectations, when they need to fly under the radar.

For the record and I am comfortable saying this.

Rodney Harrison wouldn’t have done JACK to Gronk and if he tried he would have gotten his butt kicked like the last time he tried to talk tough in the club, yeah I know about that Rodney.

Was Gronk and Patriots’ players partying right after the Patriots life the best PR move?

Former New England Patriots safety Rodney Harrison had some harsh words for tight end Rob Gronkowski on Wednesday, telling ESPN Chicago Radio 1000 that the young Patriots tight end “disrespected himself” by dancing and taking off his shirt at the team’s postgame party following the Super Bowl XLVI loss to the Giants.

“I guarantee you this, if Willie McGinest, Tedy Bruschi, Larry Izzo, Richard Seymour or myself had been at that party, [Gronkowski] probably would have got his head rung,” said Harrison, who admitted he has not seen the video or photos of Gronkowski dancing at the party. “There’s no reason for that to happen.”

“When we lost the Super Bowl, any of my Super Bowl losses, I was so devastated the last thing I ever wanted to do was party, let alone dance or take off your shirt,” he added. “It’s just immaturity. It’s not right. He made a mistake and I’m sure he feels absolutely stupid about it at this point. There’s a time and place for everything.”

Rodney is still salty that he wasn’t a very good player after his steroid shipments stop and he allowed David Tyree to become a legend.

There is no right or wrong way to deal with a loss.

Gronk handle it his way, if Rodney wanted to cry in bed that is his way.

Get off your high horse Rodney, your jealousy is showing as usual.

Someone is going to pay Peyton Manning a whole lot of money.

It won’t be Indy, any small hope Peyton had of coming back, he destroyed when he leaked that story about him being medically cleared even though he knows he can’t play right now.  That was shady.

If I was a NFL owner, I would not offer Peyton a contract unless it stated, he doesn’t get paid unless he is the starting quarterback Week 1.

More people are coming around to the fact that Manning may never be the same again.

During a Wednesday appearance on “The Tony Kornheiser Show,” Kravitz talked about the he-said, he-said back-and-forth posturing by both camps and what it means for the future of Peyton and the Colts.

“I think people are starting to sway over to Jim Irsay’s side on this,” Kravitz told Kornheiser. “… It’s such a no-brainer. It’s been a no-brainer since they went to 0-13. He could give them money to play football. Andrew Luck has got to play, okay? It’s not even about the $35 million anymore. I mean, the guy’s arm is a noodle, he can’t throw like an NFL quarterback, and by March 8, there’s no way of knowing whether he’s going to be ready or not.”

I know right at this moment, Peyton’s arm couldn’t complete a 50 yard pass.

There is plenty of time between today and the start of the season, but proceed with caution.

Ray McDonald, a fifth-year defensive lineman for the 49ers, was arrested early Wednesday morning in Sunnyvale for an outstanding warrant, stemming from his 2010 arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence in San Mateo County. McDonald, 27, was released from the Santa Clara County Main Jail just after 7 a.m., according to Sgt. Jose Cordoza of the Santa Clara Sheriff’s Department. Sunnyvale police pulled over McDonald for an apparent traffic violation and he was arrested at about 2 a.m. when officers learned of his outstanding arrest warrant, according to Sunnyvale Capt. Dave Verbrugge. “No other charges filed,” Verbrugge said. “He was cooperative and no problems.” A call to the 49ers seeking comment was not immediately returned. McDonald was seen entering the team’s Santa Clara facility Tuesday afternoon for an apparent offseason workout. McDonald was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on June 12, 2010 for suspicion of driving under the influence in San Mateo County. Following that 2010 arrest, McDonald told reporters at the 49ers facility: “I just want to let you all know that whenever it works itself out, you’ll know everything that’s going on. I just want to apologize for making this a distraction because that’s not my intent. My intent is to come out here and work hard and try to win ballgames this year.”

The good news for DeSean, he is going to at least get paid for one year or get traded and get a long term deal elsewhere.

The bad news is, one freak injury can flush that all down the toilet and he needs to be on his best behavior both on and off the field.  I always thought he should get paid, it was just exactly how much he was worth.

He can blame Santonio Holmes for the market cooling on his demands.

NFL Network reports that the Eagles intend to franchise WR DeSean Jackson, but not necessarily keep him. By franchising Jackson, he can sign a one-year tender for a set salary for 2012, but the team could move him in a deal for what they deem fair compensation. If no one wants to trade for Jackson, the Eagles would then keep him and consider his one-year deal as a “prove it” type contract.

As a lifelong fan of the Titans, my heart skipped a few beats once I saw the photoshopped pic of Peyton Manning in a Titans Uniform. Unfortunately, I am aware the Titans have already “solved” their QB situation for now. If this was the 2010 Titans coming off the Vince Young-Jeff Fisher era, I would be all for the Titans bringing in a Hall of Famer like Peyton to teach a guy like Jake Locker.

New Titans GM Ruston Webster is aware of the where his team stands at QB, and by the looks of it Peyton Manning won’t be wearing two-toned blue anytime soon.

“Obviously [Manning] is a great player in the league,” Tennessee general manager Ruston Webster told season-ticket holders in a conference call, as reported by John Glennon of The Tennessean. “But on the flip side of that, we’re excited about our quarterback situation.”

Webster went on to heap praise on Matt Hasselbeck and Jake Locker and to talk about the team’s list of other needs.

I generally trust the Titans’ offseason decisions especially when it comes to free agency. This is the same team that let Albert Haynesworth walk, seems like a genius move now.

Brandon Jacobs reportedly had something to say about Gisele who had her own choice words for the New England receivers following the Pats Super Bowl loss. From the Twitter of Brian Costello, the Jets beat writer for the New York Post:
