We chronicled yesterday the story of Brian Banks (Former HS Football Star Brian Banks Spent 6 Years in Prison for Rape Didn’t Commit).

What bothered me the most and there are a lot of things that bother me about this story is she never apologized.  She never said, I am sorry for lying and destroying your life.

All she said was that she wanted to “let bygones to be bygones”. 

She didn’t even have the guts after she admitted she lied to go to prosecutors because she didn’t want to give back the $1.5 million she stole from the school district for lying.

Just listen to Banks tell the story.

Thank god his defense team secretly taped her admitting that she lied about the rape or he still would have this hanging over him.

It just makes your angry that someone can do this type of thing and get away it. As of right now Gibson is still walking free and living off the $1.5 million she and her mother won in a lawsuit.

Banks has cleared his name, but he can’t get the 10 years back he lost.

Just try to remember when you were 17 and then when you were 27. How much did you change? How much of your life would be missing if someone took those years away from your.

Wanetta Gibson is evil woman with a black heart.

Besides destroying Banks life, she has hurt the credibility of every future rape accuser going forward. Rape is a serious charge and men who commit it should be thrown under the jail, but with women like Gibson out there it will always be doubt about these claims.

Just a terrible story and I hope someone goes after Gibson for all the money and possessions she has left and any criminal charges they can levy against her.

It looks like after Faraj got the worse of the fight, he decided to take the coward’s way out.

A Dearborn man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the shooting death of another man following a fight during a pickup basketball game.

The Wayne County prosecutor’s office says Fadi Hassan Faraj entered the plea today in a Detroit courtroom. He’s expected to get 23 to 45 years in prison when sentenced June 18.

Faraj was originally charged with first-degree murder in the killing of 23-year-old Hassan Mustapha Zeidan of Dearborn.

The men were playing basketball last July in a Dearborn parking lot. Zeidan was shot multiple times with a gun retrieved from a parked car.

It was like the scene from White Men Can’t Jump or every movie about black men in gangs in the 90′s. If you going to throw hands, just throw hands, whatever the disagreement is, it isn’t worth taking a life.

On the day that Pilar Sanders was arrested for her altercation with Deion Sanders she went to the hospital saying she had an arm injury (Pilar Sanders Transported to Hospital After Altercation With Deion Sanders).

It appears that the Prosper Police thought that was Pilar was faking her injury, so they came to the hospital to arrest her.  A source at the hospital tells us what happened next.

The Prosper Police took Pilar out of her emergency room bed, handcuffed her and put her in the back of a police car.  The entire time she was saying that she was really hurt and asking for X Rays, the doctor who was examining her also said she should get X Rays, but the police decided to remove her from hospital.  The police were rushing the ER staff and Pilar was asking for X Rays and a counselor because she said Deion choked her, but it was hectic and they blew her off.  She did appear to be in some pain, but they kept saying she was making it up.

As everyone knows knows now, Pilar did suffer broken arm and thumb, so she wasn’t faking that.  She says it happened when Deion hit her with a statue in home during the altercation. She spent about a day in jail without the proper medical attention.

She also claims that Deion cut her health insurance and so she couldn’t get a proper diagnosis and had to have the bones re-broken and new pin insert to correct the break weeks after incident.

No one knows what really happened, but it does appear the police jump the gun a little bit in just assuming she was faking, you at least have to let the doctor take X Rays before hauling her off to jail.

It wasn’t like she had shot someone and was some sort of flight risk, they could have waited a couple of hours for her to get the X Rays and then if she was faking they could have included that in their police reports.

Makes them look real suspect.

Curt Schilling has been talking about this groundbreaking video game that he was going to come out with for years. Almost since the day he retired.

He started up a company has been making appearances talking about how this game was going to change the industry and put his company on the map.

Didn’t quite work out that way.

Curt Schilling’s video game company 38 Studios has been in deep financial trouble for some time now. On Thursday, the former All-Star pitcher laid off all employees at his Rhode Island-based company. The move was made due to financial difficulties, according to what a company insider told the Boston Globe. The company had nearly 400 employees on its active payroll. 38 Studios had received a $75 million loan from Rhode Island in 2010 to ensure a move from Maynard to the state’s capital in Providence.

Earlier this month, the Rhode Island government held an emergency meeting after Schilling’s company was more than two weeks late on a $1.1 million payment. Not only did 38 Studios miss the loan payment, but they were also unable to make payroll and even lost a number of their top financial officials in recent weeks.

People put their faith in Schilling and he let them down. He has always been a con artist, I bet a lot of that $75 million is in his bank account right now.

He is a fraud who should be investigated.

I will say this Mr. Grundstrom is a man of his word and he didn’t half ass the streaking, he went all out.

Collin J. Grundstrom, 22, of Jefferson City, Mo., was apprehended on the field after shedding his clothes and running from right field to left field.

According to the police report he was charged with being a spectator running on the playing field and, because he stripped, lewd and lascivious behavior. Both violations are likely to draw fines, though each has the potential of jail time, an official said.

Grundstrom “appeared to have been drinking,” said Joe Walsh, the team’s head of stadium security.

Grundstrom told police he ran onto the field because he lost a bet.

Cardinals third baseman David Freese looked on the bright side of the delay.

“He was naked. He’s not carrying much,” Freese said. “That relaxes that aspect of the drama. I guess naked’s better. I don’t know. Less to worry about.”

Not, sure what Freese meant by saying “he wasn’t carrying much”.  I laughed either way.

Mike Vanderjagt when from Top 10 kickers to not mentioned at all.

If you are going to be a trash talking kicker, you have to make all of your pressure field goals and Vanderjagt did not.

Plus, he pissed off Peyton Manning, so he wasn’t the brightest kicker in the world. Now, he is under investigation for possibly Chokeslamming a kid like The Undertaker.

Former NFL kicker Mike Vanderjagt has been suspended from his middle school coaching job after he was accused of grabbing and screaming at a student, apparently because the child taunted Vanderjagt over his missed field goal in the Colts’ loss to the Steelers in the 2005 playoffs.

The Naples News reports that Vanderjagt is a part-time coach at a middle school in Marco Island, Florida, but that he was suspended from that position when the school’s dean of students called the police to say that Vanderjagt had been witnessed grabbing a student by the throat. According to the police report, a student was taunting Vanderjagt by yelling “wide left, wide left,” and Vanderjagt walked up to him, grabbed him by the throat and started cursing at him. Both the student involved (who apparently didn’t realize that Vanderjagt’s miss against the Steelers was actually wide right) and another student who witnessed the incident told police the same story.

I can not confirm or deny if Vanderjagt was liquored up or not.

Linebacker Brandon Joiner has been sentenced to three years in prison for two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of felony drug possession. The charges stem from an incident in 2007 when Joiner was playing at Texas A&M.

Joiner and another man forced their way into an apartment and assaulted two men before binding them with duct tape. They stole their wallets, keys, cellphones and marijuana. When police searched Joiner’s home they also found hydrocodone and Ectasy.

He hopes to get out in 6-8 months with good behavior. The  Bengals haven’t said if they would still be interested whenever he is release.

According to NBC6 in Miami, the Knicks guard was arrested on an outstanding warrant stemming from not having a valid driver’s license.

The 26-year-old, whose real name is Earl Joseph Smith, was arrested around 9 p.m., Miami Beach Police spokesman Sgt. Bobby Hernandez said.

Smith was booked into jail just before midnight, records showed.

The details of the warrant were unknown.

This is not a typical lead story by any mean, but with so many NFL players struggling with post career finances and finding a post sports  identity I felt this story deserved some attention.

While browsing deadspin.com I came across this story about Jon Kitna becoming a high school math teacher.

First I think its an amazing story.  I can’t speak about Kitna’s post career finances, but I am greatly proud to see a guy who did not allow the NFL to define him, and who actually had a plan after football.

I struggle to understand why so many college educated former NFL players would rather struggle or live in squalor when the actually point of going to college is to get an education, learn a life skill, and allow yourself to mature.

So many former pro athletes would rather file bankruptcy, or struggle greatly instead of doing what most normal folks do that went to college.  Jon Kitna went out and got a regular job that pleases him and I’m sure his students.

While being interviewed on the radio by Mitch in the Morning on KJR in Seattle, Kitna answered several candid question regarding why a guy who enjoyed success in the NFL would become a teacher.

When asked why he became a teacher, Kitna stated,  ”Well, that was my degree, and I enjoy it. I enjoy math. I’ve found it much more difficult than I thought coming back here. And I’ve always felt like I had a healthy respect for teachers, but now I feel like I just have even more. … It’s overwhelming, honestly. And part of that’s coming in the middle of the year and not having done it for 16 years and things like that. A lot has changed. But yeah, my wife and I always felt like our greatest impact for our lives was gonna be in a public high school coaching and teaching. And for me, the thing that I like to teach the most is math, and the thing that I enjoy the most is math. So that was always kinda the hook for us.”

As I stated before this would not be a lead story by any means on most sports networks, but I feel its essential for athletes whether they be professionals now or retired to understand that yes you went to college to learn, and regardless of your status and wealth you can continue to learn and give back in ways that don’t have any monetary value.

These stories are becoming way too common.

Real simple, if you are an old man, don’t do anything that could remotely be seen as inappropriate with young girls. If you have to think about it, then don’t do it.

Chad Curtis, the former Major League Baseball star with both the Tigers and the New York Yankees, was arrested Thursday, the Barry County prosecutor told 24 Hour News 8.

He faces five separate criminal sexual conduct charges: one in the 3rd-degree, two in the 4th-degree and two in the 2nd-degree.

Allegedly, Curtis touched the female athletes during therapeutic assistance to an injury, but it crossed the line into touching and kissing intimate parts.

Curtis denied the allegations in an interview with 24 Hour News 8 outside of his home. He asked for prayers from the community as the legal process runs its course.

According to TMZ ex UCLA basketball star Reeves Nelson is suing Sports Illustrated for allowing a writer to defame him and claim that he ran rough shot on campus and even pissed on a teammates bed.

TMZ has learned that Reeves will now seek $10 million dollars in a lawsuit.

Reeves was the Bruins best player from 2009-2011 but was kicked off the team for constantly breaking team rules and missing a team flight in December 2011.

A March 5, 2012 SI article written by George Dohrmann claimed that UCLA head coach Ben Howland allowed Reeves to get away with everything but murder because he was “producing.”  The article also insenuated that Howland had completely lost control of his program.

Nelson’s lawyer Keith Finks states that he will prove that Dohrmann ”recklessly and negligently failed to investigate the claims in the article.”

It will be interesting to see how this suit plays out.  As an up and coming blogger, I am learning that you must cross your T’s and dot your I’s before you report or make claims regarding anything in journalism.

Nelson last played for Zalgiris Kaunas in the Lithuanian basketball league this past season.

For a second I want you to put yourself in Banks’ shoes.

You know you didn’t commit a crime, but you are 17 years old and lawyers are saying you can go to jail for 41 years unless you accept a plea deal.

No 17 year old should be force to make that decision, but Banks thinking if he is found guilty his life would essentially be over, takes the deal.

He does his time, his football dreams are shattered and then the woman he didn’t rape says this…..

He maintained there was no rape and their sexual contact was consensual, but his lawyer urged him to plead no contest rather than risk a sentence of 41 years to life in prison if convicted. He followed the advice and went to prison for six years, shattering his dreams of gridiron glory.

Lawyers for the California Innocence Project were prepared Thursday to argue he should be exonerated.

In a strange turn of events, the woman who accused him a decade ago friended him on Facebook when he got out of prison. Wanetta Gibson explained she wanted to “let bygones be bygones.”

According to documents in the case, she met with Banks and said she had lied; there had been no kidnap and no rape and she offered to help him clear his record.

But she subsequently refused to repeat the story to prosecutors because she feared she would have to return a $1.5 million payment from a civil suit brought by her mother against Long Beach schools.

She was quoted as telling Banks: “I will go through with helping you but it’s like at the same time all that money they gave us, I mean gave me, I don’t want to have to pay it back.”

May I ask a question?

Why isn’t Wanetta Gibson in jail?

She just didn’t destroyed Banks’ future (worst case scenario at least his name is clear and he has some sort of college education), she defrauded the school out of $1.5 million based on a lie.

Rape is a serious charge.

If you are accused of rape as a man regardless if you are innocent or guilty it stains your reputation, so there is no worse woman on earth than one that lies about being rape.

She should be punished, sued and jailed.

Would be awesome if it was true, just for the comedic aspects.

It is to give you the proper information and let you make your own decisions. My personal belief is this isn’t true, for a couple of reasons.

First, I doubt Ebay would put the listing up even though in the past virginity listing have slid the cracks. Secondly, the alleged listing was on March 20th, 2012 so we have no way of verifying if it actually happened or not. Lastly, it appears the user name is adidassistah00. No seller going by that name is listed on EBAY and also I find it odd that someone would have an adidas handle but asking for Jordans.

Granted I have no way of knowing that it isn’t true and it appears Jermain Taylor wasn’t aware of it either because she had zero bids at the time this screen shot was taken.
