Free Agent Pioneer Curt Flood Memorabilia To Be Auction

When you say the name Curt Flood the first people thing people think of is the man who paved the way for Free Agency in Baseball.
I had a chance to speak to Curt Flood’s widow Judy Pace Flood and she had an interesting take on how Curt Flood’s historic case had an effect on baseball.
“It isn’t just baseball players who should be indebted to Curt, said Mrs. Flood, but every sport agent because there wasn’t an industry for agents until Curt’s case”
A lot of people forget that Flood was one hell of a player as well. 7 time gold glove winner, 3 time all star & 2 time world series champ. Sometimes that gets loss in the shuffle because of his historic case.
“I believe Curt should be mentioned with the all time great centerfielders his numbers speak for themselves” said Mrs. Flood.
Thanks to Hunt Actions both Flood’s on and off the field contributions will be on display November 14 auction at the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory.
On display will be an autograph baseball from Rosa Parks:
A copy of the 1972 Supreme Court report:
A Bob Gibson painting, Curt Flood was a very accomplished artist.
Also during the auction an authentic Jackie Robinson 1948 Brooklyn Dodgers road jersey is expected to be sold for over $250,000.
For more information on the event you can go to Hunt Auctions.
