It’s hard to find a talented head coach that can inspire his players, but a GM in a suit comes a dime a dozen according to NFL legend John Madden.
Madden actually resides right outside of San Francisco, so he has a front seat view of the contentious relationship between Jim Harbaugh and 49ers GM Trent Baalke.
We reported earlier in the week that things are so bad between GM and coach that the two aren’t even on speaking terms, and 49ers owner Jed York may soon be force to choose between the two.
Madden for his part believes that it’s an easy decision, and if necessary, the owner should pick the coach over the GM.
“It’s a lot easier to get a suit than it is to get a coach,” Madden told KCBS on Wednesday. “The owner has to pick the coach.”
“Jim Harbaugh has done a great job of coaching in the NFL no matter how you put it,” Madden said. “Getting to three championship games in a row with that group or with any group is a heck of a thing that he’s done… You tell me where they’re going to get a guy that’s any better than him.”
