Aaliyah Haughton is an iconic music artist and the Princess of R&B.
On Aug. 25, 2001, the beautiful soul lost her life in a plane crash with her crew members leaving Marsh Harbour, Bahamas, to Miami.
Questions remain unanswered surrounding her legacy, although some aspects were obvious.
These are the five things Aaliyah would’ve accomplished had she been alive.
1. Grammy Award for Music & Neptunes Collaboration
If Aaliyah were alive…I’m sure her music would’ve taken an increase due to the sex appeal in her final days as a young adult.
Working with the Neptunes was something we didn’t get a chance to see Aaliyah do with Pharell and Chad Hugo creating masterpiece albums for artists.
They’re heavily responsible for producing Justin Timberlake’s master debut album “Justified,” which set the tone for other great albums years down the line after he left NSYNC in 2001.
It was certainly on the way, and even Pharell admitted Timbaland was better than him as a producer because he produced for Aaliyah.
Aaliyah has MTV awards, but the Grammy was certainly on its way with either a song or album that would’ve set off the 2000s after her self-entitled AALIYAH.
2. Collaboration With Chris Brown
A collaboration with Chris Brown is always a masterpiece for veterans or newcomers.
In 2005, Chris Brown was at the pinnacle of his career as a new baby (16-years-old) with the high pitch voice singing about puppy love.
Not one R&B artist could stop him because we never saw a young Black man master every style of dancing and then two years later implement the sexual image like Brown did on his second album Exclusive (2007).
The versatile dancing along with his vocals would compliment Aaliyah’s soothing angelic voice.
Let’s not forget, Aaliyah could destroy party beats with the rawest bass sound, and Brown was a master at perfecting the tempo.
A duet with a 25-year-old Aaliyah and 18-year-old Chris Brown would’ve been amazing with that old-school bump and grind in a music video.
Brown is known as the closest thing to Michael Jackson when it comes to emulating his dance style instead of the hits and fame globally.
Get these two in the studio, and it’s magic forever.
