Ravens:24
Colts:9
A highly emotional game for both teams. On one side, there’s the young Colts, whose story of defiance became the inspiration needed to pull off remarkable season–Chuck strong. For the veteran Ravens, their heart and soul in Ray Lewis is calling his career a wrap with the end of this season. Two teams with every reason give it their all, and more in this game.
Blitz packages were the Ravens method of choice to shake up Luck, but an early turnover for the Ravens gave the Colts the ball for a long drive down the field, which resulted in a Colts fumble. By the time the second Quarter came the game was still scoreless, after a series of failed opportunities by both teams.
Ray Rice came alive by the end of the 2nd quarter and the Ravens got a much needed touchdown to take the score 10-3 Ravens. After the half the Colts again had no trouble taking the ball down the length of the field, despite the constant pressure, but it once again, only resulted in a field goal. Anquan Boldin came up huge throughout the 2nd half, reeling in a huge catch from a deep throw down the field, which put the Ravens in excellent field position to then score another touch down by Pitta. Ultimately, the Colts offense never received the spoils of their reward after moving the chains all game long. Not being able to get the ball in the end zone and settling for field goals proved to be the cause for their demise.
A well earned, gritty victory for the Ravens whose offense finally got their act together after the half, and the defense stayed strong. Joe Flacco went 12 for 23 attempts with 282 yards with 2 touchdowns. Mr. Luck was 28 of 54 attempts with 288 yards, and a pick. Next stop for the Ravens will be off to Denver to duke it out against a very well rest Peyton Manning.
